Kaekaza had done it. Using a similar spell and incantation that the Scarlet clan used for their own abode, she had managed to transfer her entire dwelling, Moonshadow Manor, into Gensokyo. She had chosen a clearing on the border between the Forest of Magic and the Bamboo Forest of the Lost just on the edge of Gensokyo to set up shop. A perfect location for her new "base of operations" so to speak. And no troublesome neighbors that she knew of.
"It's perfect." Kaekaza let out a wicked chuckle as she appreciated her handiwork. Her beautiful and dark manor, in its full glory now before her. She couldn't have done it better.
Without for delay, the vampire Daraknian stepped inside her home, making sure everything was still in order. And it was, as far as she could tell. Now there was only one thing to be sure of. Did her technology still work? Envisioning a certain room beneath the main manor, Kaekaza raised her hand in the air and lifted an invisible switch. Her telekinetic power switched on the hydro-generators that lay beneath the floor, and the house came to life. The lights flickered on and the generators could be heard, faintly, as they powered on.
"Perfect." Kaekaza purred. "MISAI?" Kaekaza called out. A computerized feminine voice responded.
"Moonshadow Integrated Systems and Defenses Artificial Intelligence manager online. Welcome back, Mistress Areivas." MISAI for short. Kaekaza grinned.
"Bring our defenses back online, will you?"
"Of course, Mistress." The computer responded. While Kaekaza was certain she could handle most everything thrown at her, she liked to have a bit of extra security around. On top of the wall the surrounded her dwelling, she had built in auto-turrets, cameras, and all manor of security to go along with the artificial intelligence system she herself developed. Acquiring over 300 years of knowledge, technology prowess, skills, and intelligence in less than an hour didn't exactly hurt. Anything that came within sight of the wall would be warned, threatened, and shot at. And if the defenses didn't manage to get rid of whatever intruded, the gunfire would certainly wake up the manor's powerful and angry Mistress.
Kaekaza made her way to the top floor and into her room. She hung up her trench coat on the door, picked up her Shakuhachi, and stepped out onto the balcony. She stood there for awhile, staring across the night sky and the horizon of the trees of the Bamboo Forest and the Forest of Magic. Her house didn't come near the size of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, but she was only one and they were six.
The vampire put the flute to her lips and played for the first time in what seemed like forever. She had had enough of Ezekarra's dusty old cabin. She played to her heart's content underneath the moon's pale glow.
